When you are hungry, He will feed you

Matthew 6:31-33:

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

You get up every day with a tight feeling in your stomach, not sure if there will be food later. Anxiety sticks with you all the time, making your daily life tough. The high prices in today's economy make things even harder, making it a big challenge to buy the basics.

In this world of financial struggle, your everyday life is a constant fight against not having enough. Thinking about the future becomes a luxury when just getting by becomes the main focus. The anxiety is not just about today; it is about not knowing what will happen tomorrow.

In this sense, poverty is not just about not having things; it also fills your thoughts with worries, making even the simple moments hard.

In these challenging times, perhaps you can find some reassurance in stories from the Bible when God or Jesus provided food for those who were hungry.

One instance is when Jesus fed a multitude with five loaves of bread and two fish. It shows that even with a small amount, there can be enough to satisfy many.

Another example is when God provided manna to the Israelites during their journey in the desert. In that difficult time, God gave them food to sustain them each day. These stories remind you that, even in scarcity, there can be unexpected sources of provision.

Exodus 16:15: "When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, 'What is it?' For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, 'It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.'"

It does not mean that your struggles will vanish, but they offer a glimpse of hope and the possibility of help when things seem tough.

That said, turn to the Lord in prayer.

Praying can be a way to share your worries and hopes, easing the burden you carry.

It does not magically solve practical problems, but it can provide mental and emotional support. In these moments, leaning on your faith can offer a sense of connection and a belief that there is something beyond the struggles you face daily.

Moreover, God may not literally provide food on your table, but He will provide ways to make it happen.

Consider the chance of finding employment when you least expect it, where a job opportunity emerges, providing a means for you to sustain yourself and your loved ones.

Additionally, a friend might step forward with support during your challenging times. This friend could offer assistance, maybe helping with groceries, and bills, or providing a listening ear, acting as a source of comfort and encouragement.

Furthermore, it is not uncommon for strangers to become instruments of divine provision. Picture a situation where someone, unknown to you, extends a helping hand. Perhaps they cover a meal at a restaurant, assist with a necessary expense, or provide resources that alleviate some of your immediate struggles.

In these instances, the hope is that God's provision may manifest through tangible means – a job, a friend, or a stranger – offering a way forward amid your challenges. So, find the courage to keep going.

I'm a Christian who sees the church as my second home. Not only were my parents the ones who raised me, but our church elders and members also played a significant role. However, despite attending church every Sunday, I still have some questions regarding my faith. As a writer, the articles I create serve as answers to the questions I've had and continue to have, and I hope they can serve a purpose for others who are searching for the same answers.
