And My Answer Will Be Yes
I’ll say yes, Lord, yes to Your will and to Your way
I’ll say yes, Lord yes, I will trust You and obey
When Your spirit speaks to me
And my whole heart I’ll agree
And my answer will be yes, Lord, yes
This was one of the songs we would sing at church during altar calls as an invitation for those to come to Christ to be saved or as a time to rededicate themselves back to Him. It is a song of surrender to something greater than myself. I am surrendering my wants and desires and aligning them with what God wants for my life.
There are times when our obedience is tested—when fear, doubt, or uncertainty make it difficult to say “yes” to what God is calling us to do. But God’s plans for us are always good (Jeremiah 29:11), and He desires to lead us into abundant living. When we choose to align our will with His, we position ourselves to receive His provision, protection, and peace.
God's call to obedience isn't always easy. It may require sacrifice, perseverance, and an unwavering faith that He will guide us. Abraham had to trust God when he was asked to leave his homeland. Moses had to step out in faith to lead Israel. Mary had to say "yes" to carrying the Savior of the world. Their willingness to obey, despite uncertainty, led to remarkable blessings. When we hesitate, we miss out on what God has in store. But when we trust Him fully, we step into His perfect plan.
Every time that I have been obedient to what God was asking me to do, He blessed me more than I ever expected. I trusted Him in times that I didn’t understand or even when I couldn’t see my way through or out of a situation he continued to order my steps. He has never stirred me wrong.
Will you trust Him today? Will you say “yes” even when the path is unclear? A willing heart and an obedient spirit unlock the doors to divine favor. Let today be the day you commit to answering God with a faithful, unwavering “yes.”
Saying “yes” to God is an act of faith, trust, and surrender. Often, obedience requires stepping outside of our comfort zones, letting go of our own plans, and following His divine direction. Yet, the promise in Isaiah 1:19 reminds us that when we are willing and obedient, we will experience the fullness of God’s blessings.
